The occurrence and measures taken to ensure the safety of avalanches

Abstract

   This article analyzes meteorological factors that pose a danger to human life, types of avalanches and determining landslides. The measures taken to prevent avalanches and ensure the safety of the population and economic facilities are described. The mechanisms of formation of snow avalanches are formed as a result of freezing of the particles of the snow cover of the surface. Under the influence of the sun, wind and heat, an ice crust forms on the snow surface and as a result of these phenomena, snow crystals. The stagnant mass formed as a result of a dense and heavy layer, when sliding down, carries with it a snow cover: the speed of "snow layers" can reach 200 km/h. About measures in which the possibility of movement of "snow plates" depends on the layering of the snow mass, that is, on dense and stagnant snow.
